Information Technology suite

The centre's IT suite is equipped with 14 PCs, all of which are loaded with the latest software and can be used for a multitude of applications. The suite also boasts full access to the Internet, printing facilities, projector, photo editing and much more.

The IT suite provides an invaluable training facility to all centre users and community groups. The suite has always been a central part of the centre. The centre manager has successfully developed a working partnership with a local further education college which provides English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) to community members and has a community outreach office at the centre. The college also teaches maths through its ESOL provision and IT courses of its own.

The centre recently managed a community IT project - funded by UK Online - for an over 50's IT Club. The centre was able to introduce more than 70 community members to IT, over 50 of them never having sat in front of a PC beforehand.
